In Europe a woman named Hilda was near death from a rare type of cancer. There was one drug that doctors thought might save her. It was a form of radium that a druggist in the same town had recently discovered. The drug was not expensive to make, but the druggist was charging ten times what the drug cost to make. He paid $200 for the radium and charged $2,000 for a small dose of the drug.
Hilda's husband, Heinz, went to everyone he knew to borrow the money, but he could only get about $1,000.He told the druggist that his wife was dying, and asked him to sell it cheaper or let him pay later.
But the druggist said, "No, I have worked very hard and sacrificed a great deal to discover this drug. It is my property. I have a moral right to it, protected by law, and another moral right to decide what to do with it. And what I want to do is make as much money as I can so I can make my life more enjoyable. I am not running a public charity." So Heinz got desperate and began to think about breaking into the man's store to steal the drug.
Should Heinz steal the drug?

Yes, Heinz should steal the drug from the store. If I were in Heinz position i would definitely steal the drug from the store because either way I would end up "dying". Is ever I shall get caught in stealing, then I wouldn't get the drug for my wife and she's end up dying. With that, I'd also end up "dying" because I lost my wife. On the other hand, if ever I don't steal the drug and stood to my ground as a good citizen, then my wife would also die. With this, I'd also end up "dying" due to losing my wife. SO, from a practical point of view, since both instances would bring about "dying" on my side, then I'd rather take the risk of getting my hands on that drug so as to tell myself or satisf myself no matter what happens, I've exhausted all means to save my wife. You see, although this is a moral dilemma, in the end it still boils down to yourself... I'm sure that if ever I am Heinz and I went on to stealing the drug, God would understand. :)

sir, going to your question, yes, heinz should steal it. based on rational choice theory, "...when faced with several courses of action, people usually do what they believe is likely to have the best overall outcome."
hello voltaire, thanks for dropping by. am glad to know that my IPE theory lessons are now helping you. i am looking forward to your future career as a lawyer. suggest ko, prioritize mo application sa UP or ADMU. God bless.
